Community Presbyterian Church meets for worship at the historic Newtown Meeting House. The Newtown Meeting House is located 1 mile west of Exit 10, I-84, on the southwest corner of the intersection of Main Street (Route 25) and West Street, just west of the flagpole (see map). There is an identifying sign on the front lawn. Directions from various areas follow. ( Please note the parking instructions below)
From EAST of Newtown:
Take I-84 WEST to Exit 10/Newtown. At end of off ramp, turn RIGHT onto Church Hill Road (Route 6). Go WEST approx. 1 mile (through 3 traffic lights) to top of hill and flagpole. Meeting House is directly ahead (white clapboard church architecture w/black shutters, 100’ steeple, sign on lawn).
From WEST of Newtown:
Take I-84 EAST through Danbury to Exit 10. At end of off-ramp, turn LEFT on Church Hill Road, go approx. 1 mile (through 3 traffic lights) to top of hill and flagpole, Meeting House is directly across Main St.
From Western Fairfield County:
Take Route 7 NORTH to Danbury, join I-84 EAST, go to Exit 10 and proceed as above.
From Eastern Fairfield County:
Take Route 25 NORTH from Bridgeport area directly to Newtown. At flagpole, turn HARD LEFT, Meeting House is on your immediate RIGHT.
From New Haven Area:
Take Route 34 NORTH to Sandy Hook/Newtown. At traffic light in Sandy Hook (there is only 1), turn LEFT on Church Hill Road (Route 6), go through 3 traffic lights to top of hill and flagpole. Meeting House is directly across Main St.
PARKING: is provided at the Newtown Savings Bank, 39 Main Street, one-half block NORTH of Meeting House, in a paved and marked lot. A cement sidewalk runs south along Main Street to the Meeting House.
PARKING FOR MEETING HOUSE EVENTS IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE COURTYARD BEHIND 33 MAIN STREET. You may be towed!
